An intake estimate, not a feeding target. This tool adds up what your pet eats. It does not calculate how much your pet should eat. Do not reduce food based on this result alone.
How to enter amounts and match the calorie units
Enter the amount eaten each time and the number of times per day. For a full-day amount, choose 1 under Times/day. Leave unused rows blank. Record what was eaten, not just what was offered.
Match the units. If you enter cups, use calories per cup. If you enter grams, use calories per gram. For a label in kcal/kg, divide by 1,000 to get kcal/gram. For kcal/100 g, divide by 100. This tool does not convert portions between cups, grams, or other units.
Example: 0.5 cup × 360 kcal per cup × 2 times/day = 360 kcal/day. A kcal is one food Calorie.
Include everything your pet eats in a day. If some of the regular food is used as a reward, count it once, not again as an extra. Recheck entries whenever the food, portion, or calorie information changes.

Add each meal food separately. Names are optional. Amount, calorie value, and frequency are needed for every row you use.
Treats and extras
Include treats, chews, toppers, table food, and foods used to give medication. Do not enter items already counted under Foods.
The percentage compares treats and extras with the intake entered here, not with your pet’s prescribed calorie target.
What the treat percentage means
General guidance is to keep treats and other extras to no more than 10% of total daily calories. Follow the treat allowance set by your veterinary team. Treats are part of the daily total, not additional calories.
This tool uses green at 10% or less, amber above 10% but below 20%, and red at 20% or more. The 20% marker is a display cue retained from this calculator, not a clinical safety cutoff. Color is based on the unrounded percentage. A green result does not show whether the total intake or diet is appropriate.

About this estimate
This tool estimates calories consumed from the amounts and calorie information you enter. It does not determine how many calories your pet needs, whether your pet is being overfed, or whether weight loss is appropriate. It does not assess whether the diet meets your pet’s nutrient needs.
Missing foods, inaccurate portions, or mismatched units can give an incorrect total. Include treats, chews, toppers, table food, and foods used to give medication. Count each item once and use matching units for the amount eaten and calories listed.
